Ghastly Glenda

Could the Council have planned a worse road for industrial needs? Big trucks zooming down Glenda drive, parked cars on both sides so close to every entrance of every business that coming into the street is a constant nightmare. The irony is behind all that cramped industrial development is nothing but space for Africa and entering rt 6 (Frankton road from Glenda drive is aweful at rush hour. When is that new road going to happen? After they finish upgrading the beach front? And why have they decided to do this in the middle of summer?!

Response from Queenstown Lakes District Council,
The roundabout is a joint project between QLDC and NZTA. A notice of requirement for the planning consent to build the roundabout and associated road was notified before Christmas last year. 15 submissions were received and a public hearing is expected to happen in March. QLDC and NZTA are aiming to have the roundabout completed by Christmas this year.
